Sports Mole rounds up Manchester City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's Premier League clash against Everton.

Manchester City will be looking to make it back-to-back Premier League victories when they welcome Carlo Ancelotti's Everton to the Etihad Stadium on New Year's Day.

Pep Guardiola's side returned to winning ways against Sheffield United on Sunday and will now be eyeing their 14th league victory of the 2019-20 campaign.

The reigning champions are currently third in the Premier League table, one point off second-placed Leicester City but 14 points behind leaders Liverpool, who also have a game in hand.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash.

Leroy Sane

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Leroy Sane has been on the sidelines since injuring knee ligaments against Liverpool in the Community Shield back in August. The Germany international is expected to be available in February, although a firm date has not yet been set.

Aymeric Laporte

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Key centre-back Aymeric Laporte underwent surgery earlier this season after damaging knee cartilage. The 25-year-old has recently started training on grass, although he is unlikely to be rushed back into action.

David Silva

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: January 1 (vs. Everton)

David Silva has been on the sidelines since the start of December after suffering a knock in the derby against Manchester United. The experienced midfielder remains a doubt for the New Year's Day clash, although Guardiola has not ruled him out of contention.

John Stones

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: January 1 (vs. Everton)

John Stones, like Silva, has not played since the Manchester derby after this month after suffering a thigh injury. The England international remains a major doubt for the New Year's Day clash against the Toffees.

MAN CITY'S SUSPENSION LIST

City have no suspension concerns heading into this match and will have Ederson available, with the Brazilian goalkeeper serving a one-match ban against Sheffield United last time out.
