Bernardo Silva has returned to training with Portugal ahead of Sunday evening's key World Cup 2022 qualification clash against Serbia in Lisbon.

The Manchester City attacker was not available for Thursday's game against the Republic of Ireland, which finished 0-0, due to muscle fatigue.

However, Portugal boss Fernando Santos said ahead of the ROI clash that he expected Silva to be available for selection against Serbia this weekend.

The 27-year-old has now been pictured in training with his international teammates, suggesting that he is winning his race to be fit for the Group A contest.

Silva has been in impressive form for Man City during the 2021-22 campaign, making 15 appearances in all competitions, while he has scored eight times in 63 caps for his country.

Portugal only need a point against Serbia in Lisbon to ensure that they claim first position in Group A and direct qualification for next year's World Cup. body check tags ::
