Manchester City have opened up a three-goal lead over West Ham United at half time in their League Cup semi-final first-leg clash at the Etihad Stadium.
City opened the scoring in the 12th minute through Alvaro Negredo, who volleyed home from Yaya Toure's long ball over the top of the Hammers defence.
The Spaniard made it 2-0 in the 26th minute, this time firing into the top corner after being supplied by Edin Dzeko.
Toure completed the first-half scoring when he was allowed to venture into the final third unchallenged and sweep past Adrian with his right foot.
Mohamed Diame had the visitors' first effort on target in first-half injury time, although Costel Pantilimon was right behind it as it swerved towards him.
