Hull City manager Steve Bruce has described his side's 4-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester City as a cruel reminder of what it is like to play against the top teams in England.
Three goals in the space of eight minutes left the Tigers 4-0 down in the dying stages of the League Cup quarter-final, but Bruce insists that the scoreline did not do his team justice.
"If we needed a reminder how cruel it was to play against the big boys, we just had one," BBC Sport quotes him as saying.
"After 80 minutes we just had our best spell of the match and after 87 minutes it was 4-0. It was never a 4-1.
"Defensively, apart from the goal, I can't remember them creating a chance in the first half even though they had huge possession."
Andrew Robertson netted Hull's consolation two minutes into stoppage time.
