Jack Colback has insisted that Sunderland are a confident squad ahead of the Capital One Cup final against Manchester City on Sunday.
The Black Cats are considered underdogs in the match against Manuel Pellegrini's title challengers, but Colback claims that Sunderland will not fear City at Wembley.
"There is confidence in the squad," the midfielder told reporters. "They've got world class players all over the pitch so we know how tough it will be.
"But while other teams have lost by heavy margins to them, we've managed to get the better of City on a few occasions.
"It shows we can beat them so if we go out there with that belief and play well, we could upset the odds."
Sunderland have not won a major trophy since tasting success in the 1973 FA Cup.
