Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany has warned his teammates not to forget about Adam Johnson's quality ahead of Sunday's League Cup final with Sunderland.
The 26-year-old enjoyed a two-and-a-half-year stint at Eastlands before joining the Black Cats in 2012, helping the club to an FA Cup and Premier League title during his spell.
Johnson is expected to start against his former club in tomorrow's League Cup clash at Wembley, and Kompany has highlighted the dangers of overlooking his abilities.
"Johnno is a great player and I think people forget how important he was for us when he was at City," Kompany told City's official website.
"Many times he made a big impact when he played for us because that's the sort of player he is.
"He will score goals and create chances, and apart from this Sunday, I hope to see him do well in the future."
Tomorrow's showpiece kicks off at 2pm.
