Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry has reportedly begun talks with Everton over a possible loan switch to Goodison Park.
The Merseyside outfit have been linked with the former Aston Villa player, who has dropped down the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium following the arrival of new manager Manuel Pellegrini.
Discussions have begun, but a stumbling block could appear with regards to Barry's high wages at City, according to BBC Sport.
The 32-year-old signed for the Manchester club in 2009.
