Manchester City are reportedly looking for a quick resolution to their Carlos Tevez situation.
The striker remains in Argentina after leaving Manchester without permission last week.
Tevez failed to return to Manchester yesterday for scheduled talks over his future, and City are now in line to either fine the player or terminate his contract and claim compensation on his transfer fee.
"Carlos Tevez remains in Argentina. It is an ongoing matter and we'll not be commenting further," a City spokesman said.
Tevez's representatives claim that there are ongoing negotiations between the club and the striker.
"Over the weekend there were a series of meetings and phonecalls," a spokesman for Tevez said.
"Carlos is still in Argentina but both sides are kind of in agreement that they want a resolution as quickly as possible. Discussions will probably be ongoing for the foreseeable future."
Manchester City are currently on top of the Premier League with a five-point lead.
