Fernandinho is reportedly stalling on signing a new contract at Manchester City.
The midfielder has made 273 appearances for the Citizens since arriving from Shakhtar Donetsk, including 194 Premier League outings for the reigning English champions.
City broke their transfer record to sign defensive midfielder Rodri earlier this summer, though, with the Spaniard earmarked as a long-term replacement for Fernandinho.
The 34-year-old will see his current deal at the Etihad Stadium expire next June, but according to The Sun, the Brazil international is in no rush to discuss an extension with Pep Guardiola's side.
Fernandinho is yet to feature for City this season after being given extra time off following his participation in the Copa America over the summer.
The Premier League champions will be looking to return to winning ways in the top flight following their 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur when they travel to Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon.
