Pep Guardiola: 'Manchester City complacency not an issue'

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola insists that complacency will not become an issue at the club despite the Sky Blues' impressive start to the new season.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has rejected any notion that his side might become complacent after a positive start to his reign at the club.

The Sky Blues have now produced a record eight-game winning run with Guardiola at the helm, having capped off five wins from five in the Premier League with a 4-0 thumping of Bournemouth at the Etihad on Saturday afternoon.

"That is not going to happen when I am here," Guardiola told reporters after the game when asked if his side would take their start for granted.

"I have heard for a long time the Premier League is the hardest league in the world. I am not going to accept now it is easy.

"We are in September. We have played absolutely nothing."

City currently sit top of the league pile with 15 points from a possible 15.
