Manchester City winger Leroy Sane has revealed that he is hoping to earn his first Premier League start for Pep Guardiola's side in the coming weeks.
The 20-year-old moved to the Etihad over the summer but has been restricted to just three appearances in the league - all of them as a substitute - and has been forced to contend with a hamstring injury as he awaits his top-flight debut.
An injury to Kevin De Bruyne has increased Sane's chances of game time, however, and the German is aiming to capitalise on any opportunities afforded to him as a result.
"I'm getting more minutes since coming back from my injury and I can hardly wait to start my first match for Manchester City," he told Deutscher Fussball-Bund. "The atmosphere at the club is something special. I am playing with top-class footballers under Pep Guardiola who wanted to bring me to Manchester.
"It didn't all sink in properly until I watched myself playing for Manchester City on television for the first time, I feel very much at home. I already knew a few players beforehand, but the teammates gave me a very warm welcome.
"They took care of me from the beginning and always asked if I needed any help. Ilkay Gundogan is another German player also new to the team. But as I said, we received the best welcome."
Sane is currently with Germany's Under-21s squad during the international break.
