Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay has urged his side to be "competitive" when they welcome Manchester City to their Welsh base on Sunday.
Last season's Championship winners take on the former Premier League champions following City's convincing 4-0 win over Newcastle United on Monday.
"I have no doubt that the fans will make it a fantastic atmosphere on Sunday and throughout the season," Mackay said in a press conference. "[City] are a top side.
"There's a task ahead of us and you can see how quickly they got in their stride with the new manager on Monday. I wouldn't say it's daunting, but they've got one of the best squads in the country. We've got to make sure we're competitive."
Cardiff lost their first game in the top flight 2-0 to West Ham United last weekend.
