Manchester City say they are "shocked and appalled" after footage emerged of Phil Foden and his family being "harassed and abused" backstage at Saturday's Amir Khan vs. Kell Brook fight.
A video on social media pictures a confrontation between Foden's family members and a group of men at Manchester Arena, before a woman, believed to be Foden's mother, is punched by a member of the public.
A club statement read: "The club is aware of a video which has circulated on social media showing Phil Foden and his family being harassed and abused.
"We are shocked and appalled about the nature of the abuse and ensuing assault on one of Phil's family members.
"We will continue to give Phil and his family all the support and assistance they need."
Greater Manchester Police said they are yet to receive a report of the incident but they have confirmed they are aware of the video.
"Greater Manchester Police are aware of a video circulating on social media showing a disturbance at the AO arena [on Saturday night]," they said in a statement.
"We are conducting some further enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident."
Foden played the full 90 minutes for Man City in their 3-2 Premier League defeat at home against Tottenham Hotspur before attending the boxing bout later that evening. body check tags ::
