Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala has insisted that the side will be ready to face West Bromwich Albion next Monday.
The 24-year-old, who made 25 appearances in his debut Premier League season, believes the team will learn from pre-season defeats to Real Madrid and Stuttgart ahead of their season opener at The Hawthorns.
Speaking to the club's website, Mangala said: "All the games we've played have value and are important because they are building up towards our opening games at West Brom.
"I think what happened against Madrid and Stuttgart rang one or two alarm bells and maybe showed we have to change something and be aware because we can't play the way we did in those two games against West Brom or we'll get punished.
"Everything is focused on our first game against West Brom and by Monday, we'll be ready and focused."
Mangala has made five international appearances for France.
