Manchester City have confirmed that David Silva did not suffer a fractured cheekbone in Sunday's win over West Ham United.
The midfielder was stretchered off the pitch at the Etihad Stadium following lengthy treatment, after he was struck by an elbow from West Ham's Cheikhou Kouyate.
The pair were challenging for a ball midway through the second half when the Senegalese caught Silva in the face with an elbow.
Hospital tests have showed that there has been no fracture, which means that Silva could be in contention to face Aston Villa on Saturday.
City manager Manager Manuel Pellegrini has said that Kouyate did not catch Silva intentionally.
