Manchester City made sure that they would go straight into the Champions League group phase next season by earning a 4-2 win at Swansea City.

The visitors opened up a 2-0 lead with 36 minutes played thanks to goals from Yaya Toure and James Milner, but Gylfi Sigurdsson pulled one back for Swansea on the stroke of half time.

Bafetimbi Gomis wiped out the away side's advantage when he found the net on 64 minutes, only for Toure and former Swans striker Wilfried Bony to seal the points for the former champions during the final 15 minutes.

Goal

Lukasz Fabianski: Was at fault for Man City's first goal, though he recovered to have a solid game between the sticks after that. (6/10)

Defence

Jazz Richards: Did not always look comfortable at right-back. However, his sweeping cross led to Swansea's equaliser through Bafetimbi Gomis. (6/10)

Federico Fernandez: Found it difficult to contain the away side's slick forward players. Almost got on the scoresheet in the second half, only to be denied by a fine save from Joe Hart. (6/10)

Ashley Williams: Looked the most assured out of his defensive colleagues. That said, the Welshman was also kept very busy by the visitors. (6/10)

Neil Taylor: Should have done more to help keep Man City out at the back. Also failed to get forward as much as he could have. (5/10)

Midfield

Jack Cork: Was outfought in central areas by the likes of Fernandinho and Toure. An underwhelming afternoon for the midfielder. (5/10)

Jonjo Shelvey: Ran tirelessly for the Swansea cause, though his unpredictability did not always help. Was brought off with around 10 minutes left. (6/10)

Nathan Dyer: Did not have as big a say for Swansea going forward as he should have. Was often stifled by Man City's defensive organisation. (5/10)

Gylfi Sigurdsson: A disappointing first-half display was quickly forgotten when he got Swansea back in the match with a superb goal. Was much improved after the break. (7/10)

Jefferson Montero: Gave a lively showing down the right flank, posing plenty of problems for the opposition. One of the Swans' better performers on the day. (7/10)

Attack

Bafetimbi Gomis: His brute strength provided Swansea with a constant threat up front. Took his goal well to get his side level. (7/10)

Substitutes

Modou Barrow: Looked energetic when he came off the bench with 15 minutes left, but he was unable to swing the momentum back in the home side's favour. (6/10)

Leon Britton: Struggled to shore up Swansea's midfield during the final 10 minutes. (5/10)

Marvin Emnes: Worked hard when he was introduced off the bench for the last 10 minutes. Looked hungry to get on the ball and added a bit of pace to the home team's attack. (7/10)

Goal

Joe Hart: A decent performance became a superb one in the second half when he pulled off two incredible saves to keep Swansea at bay. (8/10)

Defence

Pablo Zabaleta: Showed plenty of attacking intent down the right flank and was also strong in the tackle when he needed to track back. (7/10)

Eliaquim Mangala: Another erratic display from the centre-back, who struggled to assert his authority. A failure to cut out a long ball over the top led directly to Swansea's equaliser. (6/10)

Martin Demichelis: Was often bullied by the powerful Gomis. Found it hard to keep a hold on the home side's big striker. (6/10)

Aleksandar Kolarov: Linked well with his teammates at both ends of the pitch. Almost found the net with a trademark free kick in the first half, but it went inches wide. (7/10)

Midfield

Yaya Toure: Enjoyed a commanding afternoon in midfield on his return to the side. Found the net twice to set the visitors on the road to victory. (8/10)

Fernandhino: A more understated display in central midfield than Toure, the Brazilian's mettle was important in keeping the Swans at arm's length. (7/10)

James Milner: A typical performance from the England international, who worked selflessly throughout. Put the visitors 2-0 up with a fine strike, cutting in from the left before curling home. (7/10)

Frank Lampard: Offered the away side a steady presence in midfield. Played a key role in their second goal as his raking ball upfield turned defence into attack. (7/10)

David Silva: As usual the Spaniard pulled many of the Man City strings with his passing, movement and vision. (8/10)

Attack

Sergio Aguero: Stretched the Swansea defence with his running into the channels. Could have found the net on another day. (7/10)

Substitutes

Jesus Navas: Slipped seamlessly into the Man City forward line, with his pace posing a threat down the right wing. (7/10)

Vincent Kompany: Was given 10 minutes at the end of the match and looked solid at the back. (7/10)

Wilfried Bony: Found the net against his former club during a cameo appearance at the end of the afternoon. Showed respect by not celebrating, but was probably elated at having scored a rare goal for his new side. (6/10)
