Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has thanked people for tweeting their support after he was subjected to racist abuse during tonight's Champions League clash with CSKA Moscow.
The Ivory Coast international was targeted with 'monkey chanting' from the fans in Russia, but said he has faith that the football authorities will take the appropriate action.
"Thank you for your support! Hate or racism cannot affect me when so many people are showing me love and support on a daily basis!," he posted on Twitter.
"I believe in football institutions, I know decision makers will take their responsibilties (sic) and show A RED CARD TO RACISM"
City won the match 2-1.
