Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed that Kyle Walker will miss Wednesday's Premier League clash against Brighton & Hove Albion due to injury.

The 31-year-old right-back landed awkwardly on his ankle in the goalless draw against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last week and he subsequently missed the FA Cup semi-final defeat against Liverpool on Saturday.

Speaking to reporters ahead of their midweek contest at the Etihad Stadium, Guardiola stated that Walker will not be available to face the Seagulls, but the Spaniard has suggested that the rest of his squad, including Ruben Dias and Kevin De Bruyne, could be fit to feature.

"Kyle no. The other players are better, we will make a decision tomorrow," Guardiola said at a press conference on Tuesday.

"Kyle we don't know yet (how long he will be out). It's his ankle. He can't play tomorrow but the rest we don't know.

"Ruben trained really good [today] and yesterday but has been seven weeks off. When you recover you need tempo. He's intelligent, is a guy who knows his body. We are more than delighted he's back. Nathan [Ake] makes incredible contribution, Aymeric [Laporte] and John [Stones] play a lot of games."

Dias had been sidelined since March 1 with a hamstring injury, but he has since been an unused substitute for City's last two matches, while De Bruyne required stitches in his calf after last week's game in Madrid and like Dias was an unused substitute against Liverpool.

Should Liverpool avoid defeat against Manchester United on Tuesday night and climb to the top of the Premier League table, City will be looking to move back to the summit with victory over Brighton. body check tags ::
