Bayern Munich chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has rubbished suggestions that David Alaba could head to Manchester City as part of a swap deal for Leroy Sane.
A recent report claimed that Bayern were prepared to offer City the chance to sign Austrian defender Alaba providing that Sane moved in the opposite direction.
However, Rummenigge has insisted that the proposed swap "has nothing to do with reality".
"As I've heard, rumours are circulating that we would like to hand David Alaba over to Manchester City in exchange for Leroy Sane," he told TZ. "In addition, I say very clearly: This is Grimm's Fairy Tale and has nothing to do with reality."
Both Alaba and Sane will see their contracts expire at the end of the 2020-21 campaign.
The City winger was strongly linked with a move to the Allianz Arena last summer before a serious knee injury scuppered his chances of joining the Bundesliga champions.
