Manchester City are reportedly considering a £20m bid for Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke.
The Belgian forward has enjoyed an impressive debut season at Villa Park, scoring 14 times in all competitions to help Paul Lambert's side fight against relegation.
Benteke's fine form has attracted attention from a string of clubs including Atletico Madrid, and City have now entered the race for his signature, according to The People.
City chief scout Gary Worthington watched the 22-year-old score twice at Everton last weekend and is believed to have recommended the striker to manager Roberto Mancini as a worthy summer addition.
Benteke is rumoured to be considering his options despite spending fewer than eight months with the Midlands club.
