Manchester City and Barcelona will battle for the signature of AC Milan defender Thiago Silva in the summer, according to Marca.
Barca coach Pep Guardiola has reportedly made Silva his number one transfer target as doubts grow over Carles Puyol's long-term fitness.
Guardiola will have funds to spend and is said to be willing to offer Milan around £24m for the Brazilian international.
City manager Roberto Mancini is also believed to be a fan of the 27-year-old and will be able to match any bid made by the Spaniards.
Silva joined Milan in 2008 from Fluminense.
