Norwich City have completed the signing of defender Callum Doyle on a season-long loan from Manchester City.
Doyle has been on the books at Man City since the age of 11, but he is yet to make a single senior appearance for the Citizens and has instead gained experience on loan at three different EFL clubs.
After enjoying temporary spells at Sunderland and Coventry City, the 20-year-old experienced an injury-hit 2023-24 campaign on loan at Championship winners Leicester City, playing 23 times in all competitions.
Doyle was part of Pep Guardiola's first-team squad on Man City's pre-season tour of the United States earlier this summer and featured in all four friendlies against Celtic, AC Milan, Barcelona and Chelsea.
However, the versatile defender, who can operate at either centre-back or left-back, has since returned to England to finalise a loan move to Norwich.
Doyle becomes the Canaries' third signing of the summer transfer window since the arrival of new head coach Johannes Thorup, after defensive duo Jose Cordoba and Ben Chrisene.
Norwich chief: 'Doyle arrival can be a mutually beneficial step for all parties'
Speaking to Norwich's official website after completing his move to Carrow Road, Doyle said: "I'm very excited and glad that it's finally done.
"I feel really grateful to be here and can't wait to get started. I think we can have a really good season here."
Sporting director Ben Knapper added: "Callum is a player we've wanted to bring to the club for some time, and I'm so happy that our patience has been rewarded.
"We feel he's a great fit for how we want to play, and he brings with him some fantastic experience at this level for someone who's still just 20. His pedigree is there for all to see and he'll be an important player for us this season.
"I'd like to thank everyone at Manchester City for entrusting us with the next stage of his development, and I'm sure this can be a mutually beneficial step for all parties.
"We're all so excited to work with Callum and are looking forward to seeing how he can contribute to the team over the coming season."
Doyle, who will wear the No.6 shirt for Norwich, could make his debut when the Canaries travel to newly-promoted Oxford United for their opening Championship match of the new season on Saturday. body check tags ::
