Manchester City have reportedly identified Benfica striker Darwin Nunez as a potential long-term replacement for the club's all-time leading goalscorer Sergio Aguero.
A decision on Aguero's future has still not been made, but the Argentine will be out of contract next summer and could in theory leave the Etihad Stadium on a free transfer.
According to The Telegraph, City are currently looking at replacements for the centre-forward and view Nunez, who has also been linked with Barcelona, as a potential successor.
The 21-year-old joined Benfica from Almeria in September and has been in excellent form during the 2020-21 campaign, scoring five times and contributing six assists in 11 appearances in all competitions.
Nunez has managed four goals in three Europa League outings this term, while he has found the back of the net on two occasions in four caps for Uruguay.
City also continue to be heavily linked with a move for Barca attacker Lionel Messi.
