Manchester City have reportedly offered £50m for Wolfsburg midfielder Kevin De Bruyne.
The Belgium international has been on City's radar throughout the summer after impressing for the Bundesliga side last season, and the Premier League outfit have submitted a bid, according to The Mirror.
City offered £47m earlier this week but were rebuffed in their attempts to land the 24-year-old, and manager Manuel Pellegrini is keen to bring a swift conclusion to discussions.
However, it is believed that Wolfsburg are holding out for around £57m for the former Chelsea playmaker.
De Bruyne's agent Patrick de Koster dismissed claims that De Bruyne would try to force through a move by handing in a transfer request.
"There is no way we would do something like that," said De Koster. "We have a good relationship with Wolfsburg and a transfer request is not something that happens in Germany. At this stage we have not received a call to say that any bid has been accepted and until we do, Kevin will stay where he is."
De Brunye moved to Wolfsburg from Chelsea in January 2013.
