Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is keen on a reunion with Barcelona defensive midfielder Sergio Busquets, according to a report.
The Spain international made his breakthrough at the club during Guardiola's time at Camp Nou, winning 14 trophies together and becoming one of the world's best in his position.
It is claimed by Spanish outlet Onda Cera that the pair could link up once again at the Etihad Stadium, as Guardiola has made contact with Barcelona over the La Masia graduate's availability.
Busquets remains under contract in Catalonia for another two years, however, and new Barca boss Ernesto Valverde is unlikely to be persuaded to sell any of his key men after already waving goodbye to influential forward Neymar.
City have already spent well over £200m on new recruits this summer, bringing in the likes of Benjamin Mendy (£52m), Kyle Walker (£45m) and Ederson (£35m).
