Jesus Navas will reportedly meet with former club Sevilla on Tuesday to discuss a contract with the Spanish outfit.
Navas, 31, is available on a free transfer this summer after leaving Manchester City following the expiration of his contract.
Newcastle United have been strongly linked with a move for the attacker in recent days, amid suggestions that Sevilla are refusing to meet the player's wage demands.
However, according to Marca, Navas is keen on a return to the Estadio Ramon, and representatives of the Spaniard will meet with Sevilla on Tuesday in a bid to finalise a move to the La Liga outfit.
Navas joined Man City from Sevilla in the summer of 2013, and he scored eight times in 183 appearances for the Citizens, winning one Premier League title and two League Cups in the process.
At Sevilla, the attacker scored 35 times in 393 appearances between 2003 and 2013.
