Manchester City are reportedly not interested in signing Newcastle United attacker Anthony Gordon this summer.
The 23-year-old is currently away on international duty at Euro 2024 in Germany, where England are gunning for their first major honour since the World Cup triumph of 1966.
Gordon earned a spot in Gareth Southgate's 26-man squad following a stellar campaign for Newcastle, netting 11 goals and providing 10 assists in 35 Premier League appearances.
With Phil Foden struggling to provide width on the left for the Three Lions during the group stage, the former Everton man was heralded by many as the answer for England on the flanks.
Despite this, Gordon has only made one appearance for Southgate's side so far in Germany, playing the final minutes of the goalless draw with Slovenia on June 25.
Man City 'have not' made Gordon swoop
According to The Chronicle, Manchester City are not in the race to secure the services of Newcastle winger Gordon ahead of the 2024-25 season.
It had been suggested earlier this month that the Citizens had joined Premier League title rivals Liverpool in pursuit of the 23-year-old attacker.
However, the former report states that Pep Guardiola's men have made no attempt to sign Gordon during the current summer transfer window, with a move away for the player extremely unlikely.
It is understood that Eddie Howe's side would have to receive an astronomical offer for the winger to consider parting ways, as is the case with Bruno Guimaraes and Alexander Isak.
The Magpies would supposedly look to pocket at least £75m from the sale of Gordon, who has scored 13 goals for the North-East giants since making the switch from Everton in January 2023.
What does this mean for Jack Grealish's future?
Three years on from his £100m move from Aston Villa to Man City, Jack Grealish's future at the Premier League champions is in doubt ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.
The former Villan managed just three goals and a single assist during the Citizens title-winning campaign of 2023-24, starting only 10 top-flight matches.
As a result, Grealish was left out of England's 26-man squad for Euro 2024, in what was reportedly a major shock to his Three Lions teammates.
With the arrival of Brazil international Savio from Troyes edging closer, the ex-Villa man could see his game time on the blue side of Manchester further restricted next season, even without the signing of compatriot Gordon. body check tags ::
