Report: Newcastle United eye Joe Hart

:Headline: Report: Newcastle United eye Joe Hart: ID:301677: from db_amp
A report claims that Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez wants to sign Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart this summer.

Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez is reportedly preparing a move for Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart.

The Magpies are in the market for a new stopper this summer, and had been strongly linked with Willy Caballero following his release from Man City, but the Argentine joined Chelsea on Saturday afternoon.

West Ham United, Manchester United and Watford have all been linked with Hart this summer, but according to The Sun, Newcastle are ready to make a firm offer for the 30-year-old ahead of the 2017-18 campaign.

Hart is back with Man City following last season's loan spell at Torino, although it is understood that England's number one is surplus to requirements at the Etihad Stadium.

Newcastle have also been strongly linked with a move for Villarreal forward Cedric Bakambu as Benitez looks to put together a squad capable of staying in the Premier League next season.
