Manchester City could reportedly soon open talks with Riyad Mahrez over a new contract.
The 30-year-old was an important player for the Citizens during the 2020-21 campaign, scoring 14 times and contributing nine assists in 48 appearances in all competitions.
There have been suggestions that Mahrez could leave the Etihad Stadium this summer, as Man City look to raise transfer funds, but the attacker recently said that he has no interest in moving on.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Pep Guardiola's side want to 'confirm the player's commitment' and could offer him a new deal in the near future.
Mahrez's existing contract at the Etihad Stadium is due to expire in June 2023, and Paris Saint-Germain have recently been credited with an interest in his services.
The Algeria international has scored 39 goals and registered 37 assists in 142 appearances for Man City since arriving at the club from Leicester City in July 2018.
