Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood has conceded that he would be open to the prospect of signing Scott Sinclair on a permanent basis.
The Manchester City winger arrived at Villa Park on loan back in January and he has gone on to score three goals in six appearances.
If the 25-year-old can continue that sort of form between now and the end of the season, Sherwood admitted that there is every chance he will look to extend Sinclair's stay in Birmingham.
"Has he a future here beyond the summer if he continues to perform? Yes, and I think he is eager to do that," the boss told reporters.
"It is a huge club [and] he realises that. He obviously wants to play in the Premier League, as we do, so it is something that can be discussed once we are safe."
Sinclair joined City from Swansea City in 2012, but he has had just 19 outings for the champions in all competitions.
