Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Paris Saint-Germain

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester United's latest injury and suspension news as they could be missing as many as 10 first-team players for their clash with PSG.

Manchester United will be looking to pull off an unlikely turnaround when they take on Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday night.

PSG recorded a 2-0 win at Old Trafford in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie, leaving United needing to at least match that scoreline in the French capital if they are to keep their hopes of a quarter-final spot alive.

However, the Red Devils are in fine form under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, whose only defeat from 16 games in interim charge came in the reverse fixture of this tie.

United's unbeaten domestic run has been threatened by a spate of injuries over the past week or so, though, and that will leave the Norwegian with a depleted squad to choose from on Wednesday too.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up United's latest injury and suspension news.

MANCHESTER UNITED'S INJURY LIST

Alexis Sanchez

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: April 21

Sanchez suffered damage to his medial cruciate ligament during the weekend win over Southampton and, while the injury is not as serious as other ligament ones, he is still expected to miss almost two months.

Anthony Martial

Status: Out
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: March 10

Martial was not included in the travelling party to Paris amid reports that Solskjaer is instead holding the winger back for Sunday's match against Arsenal.

Matteo Darmian

Status: Out
Type of injury: Unknown
Possible return date: March 10

Darmian is now back in training but Wednesday's match comes too soon for him to make his return to first-team action.

Phil Jones

Status: Out
Type of injury: Illness
Possible return date: March 10

Illness has ruled Jones out of the last two games, and the centre-back was once again absent from the travelling party to Paris.

Nemanja Matic

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: March 10

Wednesday's match will come too soon for Matic, who picked up a muscle injury ahead of the Liverpool game and is not expected to return until the weekend at the earliest.

Antonio Valencia

Status: Out
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: March 16

Valencia has suffered a fresh calf injury which will sideline him for a couple of weeks, although he is back running again and could return by the middle of this month.

Ander Herrera

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

One of the walking wounded from the injury-strewn first half against Liverpool, no return date has yet been set for Herrera.

Juan Mata

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Another of those to be forced off in the first half against Liverpool, Mata's hamstring problem will also rule him out of this match and the exact severity of the problem has not yet been revealed by the club.

Jesse Lingard

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Completing the stricken trio from that Liverpool game is Lingard, who was rushed back and subsequently lasted less than 20 minutes before aggravating his hamstring injury.

MANCHESTER UNITED'S SUSPENSION LIST

Paul Pogba

Pogba picked up a late red card in the first leg to compound United's misery, ruling him out of this return fixture.
