Manchester United defender Daley Blind has said that the players feel for Luke Shaw after he suffered a double leg break in the Champions League match with PSV Eindhoven.
The England full-back sustained the double fracture in the 15th minute of Tuesday night's 2-1 defeat following a challenge from PSV defender Hector Moreno.
Blind has admitted that while Shaw's injury affected the United players, it cannot be blamed for the result.
"It's something you may not actually be influenced by at that time," the Dutchman told The Mirror.
"But you can be unaware, perhaps in your head, that you subconsciously sympathize with him. But it's a defeat, and saying this should not pass the buck. It's a massive blow if such person incurs an injury.
"We are a strong team unit so it cuts into you. Maybe it gets into your heads, but you have to let it pass."
Shaw, who will undergo surgery in Manchester today, is expected to be out of action for at least six months.
