Manchester United defender Alexander Buttner has revealed that his teammate Patrice Evra advised him on how to keep Arjen Robben under check.
The 25-year-old Dutch left-back, who deputised for the suspended Evra, gave an impressive performance against Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie at Old Trafford on Tuesday.
"It is always my challenge to be the number one left-back, but I have to say that I have learned a lot from Patrice and he has been good to me," he told MUTV.
"We talk to each other before every match and before the Bayern Munich game, he came to me and we talked for about 10 minutes. He helped me a lot.
"Pat has played for many years and this was my first big game. He has played in these games many times before, he helped me a lot and I appreciate that. He wants me to play well and is happy for me if I play good games. That is the way it has to be."
The match ended in a 1-1 draw.
