Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has conceded that he was 'not surprised' by his team's 2-1 defeat to Valencia in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Juventus's surprise defeat to Young Boys meant that United would have finished top of Group H had they managed to collect all three points from the Mestalla, but the Red Devils fell to a narrow defeat.
Mourinho, who made a number of changes to his starting XI, said that he 'did not learn anything from the game' ahead of Sunday's huge Premier League clash with Liverpool.
"I didn't learn anything from this game, nothing that happened surprised me at all. Before the game I told the players if we win tonight and Juventus win, we did our job," The Mirror quotes Mourinho as saying.
"If we didn't win and Juventus didn't win, then we can blame ourselves."
United, who could face the likes of Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid or Bayern Munich in the last-16 stage of the Champions League, have now only won two of their last seven matches in all competitions.
