Louis van Gaal has suggested that he is happy with Manchester United's point away at CSKA Moscow after seeing his side battle to a 1-1 draw.
The Red Devils had Anthony Martial to thank for levelling things up in the second half, having earlier fallen behind to Seydou Doumbia's strike in Russia.
Despite now trailing Wolfsburg in the Group B standings, United still remain in pole position to advance through and also ended a run of four European away defeats on the bounce in the process.
"I knew it would be a very difficult game," Van Gaal is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "They had the present from Anthony Martial and then it is difficult when you are behind.
"We could not play at a high tempo, it was too slow in the first half. We had to improve at switching from side to side and we did that. We could have won but a draw was deserved."
The sides face off at Old Trafford in two weeks' time.
