Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has said that Robin van Persie's penalty miss against Real Sociedad in the Champions League will not affect the striker too much.
Van Persie missed United's best chance in the goalless draw at the Estadio Anoeta, while Javier Hernandez also wasted a good opportunity having blasted over from a few yards out.
"Of course [everyone misses from time to time]. Most forwards in the world miss penalties. That won't affect him, I'm sure," said Rooney, according to The Express.
"We're disappointed we didn't get the three points as we had the best chances. Overall, however, we can see the positives. We got a clean sheet and we're still top of the group."
United lead Champions League Group A having played four games so far.
