Manchester United centre-back Chris Smalling has admitted that the team must "start rewarding" their supporters with improved performances and results.
Following tonight's 2-1 Europa League loss away at FC Midtjylland, the Red Devils have won just eight of their last 25 games in all competitions.
"It wasn't acceptable and we need to start rewarding these fans who travel this far and gave us that great support," Smalling told reporters.
It has been estimated that taking the price of a ticket, flights and hotels into consideration, many of the United fans that made the trip to Denmark would have forked out over £1,000.
