Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher has credited Yeovil Town for the performance that they put in against his side this afternoon.
Struggling League One outfit Yeovil held their own against their Premier League visitors and even had the chance to break the deadlock through Kieffer Moore, but the striker failed to make a clean connection.
Ultimately, second-half strikes from Ander Herrera and Angel di Maria secured United's place in the fourth round, but Fletcher was quick to praise the home side's display.
"Coming to Yeovil you have to battle to earn the right to win. Credit to Yeovil they made it very difficult. We would have liked to have played better but sometimes you have to earn the right to do that and we had to dig in deep," he told BBC Sport.
"It ultimately took a fantastic goal to open the scoring and Angel Di Maria finished it off. [It was] a great result all in all because it was always going to be difficult."
United last won the FA Cup back in 2004 thanks to a 3-0 win over Millwall - a game which Fletcher played in.
