Louis van Gaal: "We have to recover" from FA Cup defeat

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal insists that his team need to "recover" immediately from their loss in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup to Arsenal.

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is adamant that his side need to bounce back from their defeat to Arsenal in the FA Cup in their upcoming fixtures.

The Red Devils lost their last realistic chance to compete for silverware this season as they were dumped out of the competition by the Gunners after Danny Welbeck's second-half strike condemned them to defeat.

However, Van Gaal has insisted that his team have to recover from the setback, starting against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday in their top-flight clash at Old Trafford.

"All the players are very disappointed and that's logical," Van Gaal told reporters. "We have to see how we recover from that.

"I can't say the motivation of the team was bad; it's always good. We showed fantastic fighting spirit again. This is a big blow for us but we are sportsmen, so we have to recover."

United are currently fourth in the Premier League, with 10 games remaining this season.
