Huddersfield Town manager David Wagner has insisted that he will never be a fan of VAR, despite seeing a decision go his side's way during their FA Cup defeat to Manchester United this evening.
Juan Mata saw a goal controversially disallowed at the John Smith's Stadium, with VAR helping to chalk it off despite numerous replays showing it to be a marginal decision.
The technology eventually ruled in Huddersfield's favour, but Wagner still believes that the system takes away a key element of the sport.
"When the referee made his decision, however the decision will be I don't like it," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.
"Yes, the decision went in our favour but this VAR for me kills the emotion of the game. This is why I don't like it but I am not the person who makes the decision."
Huddersfield went on to lose the match 2-0 courtesy of a Romelu Lukaku brace.
