A penalty from Javier Hernandez has given Manchester United a 1-0 lead over Norwich City at half time in their Capital One Cup tie this evening.
Nathan Redmond made a strong start for the visitors, but missed the chance to put the Canaries ahead inside the opening 10 minutes when he drove the ball well wide.
Wilfried Zaha created the home side's first chance of the match, making a run from midfield before crossing in towards Hernandez, but the Mexican could not quite reach the ball in time.
Hernandez got another chance in the 20th minute when Leroy Fer brought down Adnan Januzaj in the box, allowing the striker to slot the ball in from the penalty spot.
Januzaj came close to doubling United's lead 10 minutes before the break, having picked up the ball on the edge of the area and looked to curl it into the top corner, just missing the target, before having another effort blocked in the closing moments of the first half.
