Ki Sung-Yueng has given Swansea City a 1-0 lead over Manchester United at half time in the opening match of the new Premier League season at Old Trafford this afternoon.
The first chance of the game fell to the visitors when Gylfi Sigurdsson lined up a free kick from 25 yards out, but David de Gea held on to the curling effort.
Wayne Rooney tried to catch Swansea out with a shot down the other end moments later following a quick break, but he did not get enough power behind his shot, giving Lukasz Fabianski a comfortable stop.
Swansea took the lead just before the half-hour mark when Ki picked up the ball on the edge of the box before drilling it into the bottom corner.
The hosts had more urgency in their play after going a goal down, but were unable to get the better of the Swansea defence before the end of the opening 45 minutes.
