Manchester United are being held to a 0-0 draw by Everton at half time at Old Trafford.
Shinji Kagawa had a good chance for United after 20 minutes, but Tim Howard did well to come off his line to close the angle down quickly inside the area.
The Blues struggled to gain hold of possession for most of the half, but Romelu Lukaku wasted a promising counter attack when his low cross was easily cut out by Nemanja Vidic with men over at the far post.
Ryan Giggs flashed a header wide of Howard's right-hand post after Wayne Rooney had released Rafael to deliver a good cross.
Rooney came closest to breaking the deadlock when his shot from the edge of the box hit the post, before Howard cleared the ball while he was on the floor.
Lukaku had the Blues' best effort towards the end of the half when he drilled a low shot at goal, but David de Gea made the save with his feet.
