Manchester United are reportedly wary about the amount of game time being handed to Victor Lindelof.
While the defender has started United's opening two matches against Crystal Palace and Brighton & Hove Albion respectively, his performances have been well below par.
The Sweden international is receiving increased criticism from pundits and supporters at a time when United are preparing to take on a hectic schedule.
According to The Mirror, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his coaching staff are more concerned about the 26-year-old's long-term fitness than his most recent displays.
Lindelof made 47 appearances for United during the last campaign, something which led to his omission from his national team's fixtures in September.
However, the centre-back is still showing signs of sluggishness, resulting in Solskjaer having decisions to make regarding his future outings.
