Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick provides Luke Shaw injury update

Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick reveals that Luke Shaw was forced off against Leicester City after feeling something in the leg he broke back in 2015.

Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick has admitted that Luke Shaw felt a problem with the leg that he suffered the horrific fracture on during Saturday's Premier League draw with Leicester City.

The left-back was in discomfort towards the end of the first half at Old Trafford but managed to carry on until the break after receiving treatment.

However, Shaw did not reappear for the second 45 at Old Trafford, with Alex Telles taking his place in the backline, and Rangnick has issued a somewhat worrying update on his situation.

Shaw suffered a sickening leg break in the 2015-16 season, which kept him out for almost the entire campaign, and Rangnick has confirmed that the left-back felt something in the same area.

"He had some problems last week, when he was with the England team, with his old injury when he had an operation on a broken leg. This showed up again today. That's the reason why we had to substitute him at half time," Rangnick told MUTV.

Shaw - who also overcame a bout of COVID-19 last month - has cemented his position as United's first-choice left-back with five assists in 27 matches during the 2021-22 season. body check tags ::
