Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney has expressed his hope that the injury suffered by Anthony Martial on international duty is not too serious.
The teenager was forced off during the second half of France's 2-0 defeat to England at Wembley, a match that saw Rooney score the hosts' second goal, and was later seen leaving the stadium on crutches.
France boss Didier Deschamps has since played down the severity of the foot injury, but Rooney has outlined his plan to speak to the big-money summer signing himself.
"From a personal point of view, and from Manchester United's point of view, I hope he is okay. I will try to ring him," Rooney told reporters.
Martial has netted five times for United since joining the club for an initial fee of £36m from Monaco in the summer.
