Manchester United have confirmed their 25-man squad for Monday's pre-season clash against Rosenborg, but Joshua Zirkzee will not be involved for the 20-time English champions.
The Red Devils announced Zirkzee's arrival on Sunday, with the Netherlands international signing a five-year contract with the English giants, having joined from Bologna.
The 23-year-old was a late call-up to the Netherlands squad for Euro 2024, and he only played four minutes at the competition, but he will still have a break before linking up with his new club.
As a result, Zirkzee will not be involved in Man United's first friendly of the summer on Monday night.
The Red Devils will play their second pre-season match against Rangers on July 20 before heading to the United States for fixtures against Arsenal, Real Betis and Liverpool.
Rashford is named in Man United squad
Marcus Rashford is in the Man United squad, as the attacker was overlooked by England boss Gareth Southgate for Euro 2024, while Jonny Evans is also included after his new deal was confirmed.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Casemiro and Mason Mount are also included, but Andre Onana, Victor Lindelof, Amad Diallo and Antony have remained in Manchester alongside Jadon Sancho, who is now back in first-team training with the club after seemingly repairing his relationship with head coach Erik ten Hag.
Habeeb Ogunneye, Harry Amass, Toby Collyer and Ethan Wheatley are among the youngsters in the squad, and all four are expected to be involved at some stage of the contest.
Harry Maguire is a notable absentee, with the centre-back working his way back from the muscular problem that saw him miss the end of last season and also Euro 2024.
When could Zirkzee make his Man United debut?
According to the Manchester Evening News, Zirkzee will not link up with his new teammates until early August.
As a result, it is possible that the Dutchman will fly out to the United States for the final stages of the tour, with a debut potentially coming against Liverpool on August 3.
However, it is more likely that the forward will be involved in the squad against Manchester City in the Community Shield on August 10.
Man United will then open their Premier League campaign against Fulham on August 16, when the new arrival from Bologna could potentially make his league debut for the club.
