Manchester United centre-back Leny Yoro has been spotted on crutches and with his left foot in a protective boot after picking up an injury during Saturday's pre-season friendly with Arsenal.

Yoro made his debut for the Red Devils against Rangers just two days after joining the club, before travelling with his new teammates on their pre-season tour of the United States.

The 18-year-old was also in the XI against Arsenal on Saturday, but he had to be substituted late in the first period after picking up an apparent ankle issue.

After the match, Ten Hag told MUTV: "We have to wait 24 hours and then we will hopefully know more. We were very careful, especially with Leny. It is disappointing he had to come off but let's be positive and see what comes out."

Man United have not provided an official update on the centre-back, but a video has now emerged of him on crutches and in a protective boot making his way towards the club's team bus.

As a result, it seems highly unlikely that the Frenchman will feature in the remainder of the US Tour, with Man United still having matches to come against Real Betis and Liverpool.

The Red Devils will then head back to England to prepare for the Community Shield against Manchester City on August 10, with their new Premier League campaign beginning six days later against Fulham.

It remains to be seen whether Man United issue an official update in the coming days, but it would now be a surprise if Yoro was fit for the early stages of the campaign.

The club had severe injury problems throughout last season, and Yoro was not the only player to go off injured against Arsenal, with Rasmus Hojlund also limping off the field with an apparent hamstring issue.

What is the latest injury news on Hojlund?

Hojlund found the back of the net against Arsenal before being forced off the field soon after.

Man United are also yet to provide an update on the Denmark international, but it is understood that his withdrawal was a precaution after feeling something in his hamstring.

Hojlund is not expected to be available for Wednesday's pre-season clash with Real Betis, but he could yet feature before the club's US tour concludes.

While a scan on Hojlund's hamstring would have shown any damage immediately, the situation with Yoro is more complicated due to the swelling which is likely to have occurred.

Man United may have to wait a further few days before scanning the impacted area, but depending on the seriousness of the damage, Yoro could face anywhere between one week and several months out. body check tags ::
