How Manchester United could line up against Burnley

Sports Mole looks at how Manchester United could line up in Tuesday's Premier League clash with Burnley.

Manchester United will be looking to move to the top of the Premier League table when they continue their 2020-21 campaign against Burnley on Tuesday night.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are currently second in the division, level on points with leaders Liverpool, meaning that a draw at Turf Moor would see them rise to the summit ahead of next weekend's clash between the top two.

The 20-time English champions will enter the league contest off the back of a 1-0 win over Watford in the third round of the FA Cup.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how United could line up against Sean Dyche's side, who have picked up 16 points from their 15 league games this season to occupy 16th position.

Out: Phil Jones (knee), Facundo Pellistri (coronavirus)
Doubtful: Marcos Rojo (calf), Eric Bailly (neck), Victor Lindelof (unspecified), Paul Pogba (unspecified), Luke Shaw (unspecified)

Solskjaer revealed after Saturday's clash with Watford that Victor Lindelof, Paul Pogba and Luke Shaw were all injured for the FA Cup fixture rather than rested, but it would not be a surprise to see all three players named in the starting XI at Turf Moor.

Phil Jones and Facundo Pellistri are definitely unavailable, while Marcos Rojo is unlikely to feature; Eric Bailly is also a huge doubt due to the neck injury that the centre-back picked up during a collision with his own goalkeeper Dean Henderson on Saturday night.

Axel Tuanzebe is in line to feature alongside Harry Maguire if Lindelof cannot prove his fitness, while Alex Telles will keep his spot if Shaw is unable to overcome his issue.

Marcus Rashford, Fred, David de Gea and Bruno Fernandes will definitely be back in the side against Burnley, while Nemanja Matic is an option for the middle of the park if Solskjaer decides to rest McTominay, who played the full 90 minutes against Watford.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka was left on the bench on Saturday but will also be back in the side for this fixture, meaning that Brandon Williams, who has been linked with a loan exit, will drop out.

Edinson Cavani is also available following a three-game suspension, but it seems likely that the Uruguay international will be reintroduced from the bench, with Anthony Martial leading the attack.
