Sports Mole rounds up Manchester United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday night's EFL Cup tie with Chelsea.

Manchester United make the trip to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea in the EFL Cup fourth round on Wednesday night having registered back-to-back wins on their travels.

Just three days after seeing off Partizan Belgrade in the Europa League, United recorded a deserved 3-1 victory over Norwich City in the Premier League.

While Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will make numerous changes to his side, the Norwegian will view this competition as an opportunity to hand more experience to the younger members of his squad, as well as providing game time for players who have recently recovered from fitness issues

Here, Sports Mole rounds up United's injury and suspension news ahead of the showdown in West London.

Eric Bailly

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Having sustained a serious knee injury during pre-season, Bailly is not expected to feature until the back end of December.

Paul Pogba

Status: Out
Type of injury: Foot
Possible return date: Unknown

Solskjaer revealed over the weekend that Pogba is set for an extended spell on the sidelines as he continues to recover from a foot injury. The World Cup winner is not expected back until December.

Axel Tuanzebe

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hip
Possible return date: Unknown

Tuanzebe has been absent for United since sustaining a hip problem during the warm-up against Liverpool on October 20. It remains unclear when the defender will be back in contention.

Nemanja Matic

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Unknown
Possible return date: October 30 (vs. Chelsea)

Solskjaer suggested earlier this month that Matic had been struggling with a minor problem for several weeks. While the Serbia international was absent on Sunday, he has an outside chance of facing his former club.

Diogo Dalot

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: October 30 (vs. Chelsea)

The full-back is in the final stages of his recovery from a groin injury, which has impeded him throughout the campaign. However, the youngster could be back in contention for the game on Wednesday evening.

Luke Shaw

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: October 30 (vs. Chelsea)

Earlier this month, Solskjaer claimed that Shaw was 'not too far away' from returning to the squad after a thigh injury. With that in mind, the Englishman could play some part at Stamford Bridge.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

The youngster suffered knee ligament damage while on loan at Fulham last season and remains some way off returning to the pitch.

MANCHESTER UNITED'S SUSPENSION LIST

United have no players who are serving a suspension ahead of this game.
